Setting healthy boundaries

Protect your energy while staying connected to others.

Boundaries are not walls โ€” they are guidelines for how you want to be treated.

Notice your limits โ€” Pay attention to resentment, exhaustion, or discomfort. These often signal a boundary need.

Use clear, kind language โ€” "I can't take that on right now." "I need some quiet time tonight." "I'm not available for advice on this topic."

You don't owe long explanations โ€” "No" is a complete sentence. Brief is often clearer.

Expect discomfort โ€” New boundaries can feel awkward at first. That doesn't mean they're wrong.

Revisit and adjust โ€” Boundaries can flex as trust and circumstances change.

Setting limits helps you show up more fully when you do engage.
