Our approach

TakeMyHand is built for pseudonymous peer support. We collect only what is needed to operate the platform safely and never sell your personal data.

What we collect

  • Account email (for authentication — not shown to other members)
  • Anonymous username and optional profile fields you choose to add
  • Community posts, comments, messages, and engagement activity
  • Private mood check-ins and journal entries (yours alone)
  • Moderation reports and safety-related metadata

Privacy by design

  • Your username is your primary public identity. Email is never shown to other members.
  • Journal and mood entries are private to you — moderators cannot read them.
  • Direct messages are visible only to you and the other participant.

Your rights

You can export your data or permanently delete your account from Settings at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, and private data.

Not professional care

TakeMyHand is a peer-support platform. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline.
